    The San Antonio court of appeals recently held that a plaintiffs' attorney was, under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), not a "consumer" of court reporting services secured by defense counsel for depositions of the individuals plaintiffs in a suit in federal court.     4th Court denies Abbott's mandamus petition regarding local mask requirements

    Today, the 4th Court of Appeals denied Governor Abbott's petition for writ of mandamus, seeking to direct Judge Antonia Arteaga to vacate her temporary restraining order (TRO) prohibiting the Governor from interfering with local county officials' determinations to require masks in public facilities and schools.     A Final 4th Court Farewell

    When I started this blog, I wanted to show the human side of the court of appeals, which can sometimes seem to be isolated from the rest of the activity at the Bexar County courthouses. One of the segments I started was called "4th Court Farewells" for staff who left the court.
