San Antonio court of appeals hosts portrait unveiling ceremony for Retired Chief Justice Marion.



On Thursday, the 4th Court of Appeals hosted a portrait unveiling ceremony for Retired Chief Justice Sandee Bryan Marion. Chief Justice Marion's family, the 4th Court justices, and current and former staff attended this intimate ceremony. Chief Justice Rebeca Martinez gave introductory remarks commending Chief Justice Marion's decades' of service to the judiciary.


Chief Justice Marion also gave brief remarks, recounting her time at the 4th Court of Appeals, which included the transition from paper to electronic filings, technological improvements at the court, significant construction projects and other facilities improvements for staff, remaining flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic, overcoming the challenges of the statewide ransomeware attack on the Texas judiciary, among others.


Chief Justice Marion is currently taking appointments to preside over civil trial matters in Bexar and surrounding counties.
