San Antonio court of appeals affirms denial of summary judgment in UIW's officer-involved shooting

Last month, the Fourth Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court's denial of a motion for summary judgment on a campus police officer's assertion of official immunity regarding the death of student of the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), Cameron Redus, in 2013. The court's decision follows a series of appeals out of the case in which UIW asserted it retained sovereign immunity to suit. The 4th Court's ruling likely means that the case will finally proceed to the trial stage.
